Cody's Favorite Place in the World!

Elbert's sister, Ann, decided to stay over for a few days with us here in beach city Encinitas, and what better way to get her aquainted with our neck of the woods than to take her to dog beach (it was Cody's idea!).

We waited and waited for the sunset...

And when we told Cody we were leaving a wee bit earlier than the sunset, he showed us what he thought about that...

Santa came a few days early...

A new bed was on the top of Cody's wishlist because he totally outgrew his puppy bed.


Santa decided to come a few days early to grant him his wish! We had to let him sleep on it right away... it didnt fit underneath our tree hahaha

Shedding off the Thanksgiving pounds

to work off the extra calories from Thanksgiving, we took Cody to the beach where he could run like the wind!

He made a whole heck of a lot of friends too!

STEP ONE: Cody makes sure you're giving the plant good water.

STEP TWO: Cody tastes the water to make sure it is water.

STEP THREE: Licks all the water out of the watering can so plant can get every drop of water from the can.

Sunday shopping at PetSmart

PetSmart sent Cody a birthday card for him on his birthday last week good for a free toy or treat. So what did we do today? We took Cody to PetSmart so he could pick out his birthday present!



Cody ended up picking some rawhide bones that he really likes. He told me that he has enough toys to play with, but loves loves LOVES treats!


Cody couldn't wait to go home and eat his birthday treat!

Cody's been a bit clingy these days. Maybe its because he's getting used to sleeping in our bed on the weekends, or maybe the million other things we do that classifies him as a spoiled dog. Anyway, we left him his gigantore knuckle bone thing to keep him busy while we had gone out to the gym for a few hours this afternoon (his birthday bone he got from The Dolphins! Thanks Cat, Dallas and Riley!), but when we got home, we found the couch in disarray! Hmmm.. i wonder what's behind those pillows? He's usually pretty stealth about it!

Cody's Halloween/ Birthday party!

Cody had the best Halloween / Birthday party ever! His two bestest friends in the whole wide world came over to celebrate Halloween AND Cody's 1st birthday! Dallas was a handsome handsome devil, and Riley was the cutest little bee! Cody was trying to go for the western, cowboy look haha

Yesterday was Cody's 1st birthday. Not only did he get to go to Day Care for the first time this week (since he's been stuck indoors all week from the fires) to celebrate with all of his friends, he got to blow out a candle and get presents and treats from his crazy parents (who really need something better to do!) :)

You know when Cody had the best day ever when...

He comes home with a muddy face and muddy paws from doggie daycare... Either that, or he's trying to hide his blonde roots and go goth. :)

Things I learned at school today...

Cody has always been a squatter... But recently, he's been trying something new... with one leg barely lifted (and its ALWAYS the right hind leg)... hahaha TOTAL invasion of privacy. Cody closed his eyes in the first picture in hopes that he wouldn't be recognized.

With a blink of an eye, I can be outside!

Cody SO doesn't get that the doggie door allows him to freely roam to the outside world whenever he wants. He's actually scared of his doggie door... but he actually made a valient effort this weekend to go through it like 4 times! i think he's over it...

Somebody was keeping my side of the bed warm...
