And so it begins...

We adopted Cody Bear at the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe, California on Friday, December 29th, 2006. Elbert and i weren't planning on adopting that night, we were just "looking." :) But the minute we picked him up, we knew we couldn't leave without him. I was a bit weary at first because he seemed WAY too calm and depressed or something, and I love crazy, hyper dogs. But we filled out our adoption papers, and then found out that he had just gotten his manhood taken away from him the day before. So that explained his depression haha. Poor guy! So we bought him his leash, collar, crate, food and treats that night and just hoped for the best. We took him home, thinking he would freak out at such a strange place, but it looks like he made himself right at home and got cozy. :) what do you think?

Here are some pictures of Cody the first two days we got him. He has turned out to be such a dream! He doesnt cry at night, he knows he has to do his business outside, AND we taught him how to sit already! Too cute! This puppy will be the most spoiled brat ever! :)
On New Year's Eve, we took Cody for a road trip to my parent's house , which is about an hour and half away. We weren't sure how he would do in the car, but what a miracle! This pup slept the whole way there AND back when we came home! On New Year's Day, we took another road trip to Elbert's parents house, which is just as far, and boy this pup can sleep! Here are some pictures of him sleeping in the car (he thinks he's a cup!)
Please stay tuned for more Cody adventures!
